Software Developer in Test
// Job description
We are looking for a Software Developer in Test to make our user experience on our platform more delightful and reliable for our millions of users. The ideal candidate has a strong web development background, is thorough, independent, and possess a great product sense. You'll be a key part of a fast-paced team of passionate builders to preserve critical thinking for humanity.
What you'll contribute
- Test our chrome extension and web application, executing detailed test plans on a variety of browsers and operating systems
- Created detailed error reports using video recording software and task management software
- Create automated E2E tests to gate new releases using our drag-and-drop E2E testing tool
- Work with our engineering team live to reproduce and understand errors and improve our platforms robustness
Qualifications
- 3+ YOE in QA or web development
- Experience with web development (e.g. functions, algorithms, etc)
- Very familiar with Chrome debugger (console, network, application windows)
- Ability to code using Javascript, HTML and CSS (i.e. has coded websites before)
- Highly motivated to make impact in a fast-moving workplace
- Fluent in English
- You can either by hybrid in Toronto/New York City (with work authorization) or remote with ability to attending meetings 9am-6pm Eastern Standard Time
- Bonus
- Experience debugging Chrome extensions

- Midhun (Fullstack), highly technical ex-founder with a decade of engineering and product experience. He founded Nuance, an AI voice assessment for companies to hire faster. Prior to that, he finished his CS Masters in 2014, worked at Bloomberg and Intuit, before starting the AngeList team in India.
- Edmond (Fullstack), the first engineer at Andela's Kampala office, and scaled Andela's Ugandan office from 1 to 200+ developers. He is also the first Obama Scholar from East Africa, completing graduate studies at Columbia University.
